And now for something completely different! Novels in progress!

September 25, 2026 Fantasy Novels SciFi Writing

I like to write novels. I have written a lot of them in my life. Most of them are garbage and I never took the time to find the real story in the muck. That has stopped. I finally have stories I want people to read. With something good buried in the muck. Here's a list and about how far along they are:

  • "The Four of Knights" is set in a fantasy post-apocalyptical setting with a strange mix of fantasy tropes and a real heart at the center. 75% ... almost ready for beta readers. Next book in the trilogy is the "The Knight of Swords" (planning), Final Book is called "The Knight Queen" (just the title).
  • "Silk & Steel" is a book set in a reverse gendered world and centers around what abuse does to everyone, and how it can be healed, but the scars remain. 5% ... about to start second try. The first went off the rails (not in a bad way, just not where I wanted it to go.
  • "The Banishing Book" is about orphans who fall into the job of saving the world from a powerful artifact and the people who would abuse it. 10% ... re-working an already done book to try and get the heart of it right. Second book is "The Goblin Queen" and the third is "The Fate of the Fae".
  • "The Legend of the Sky Raiders" is about an archeologist and his estranged father trying ot come to terms with a mystery while the father jumps to conclusion. 5% ... It's been written once, and I'm mining the crap for the real book. Next book is "The Path of the Sky Raiders" and the last is "The Fate of the Star Raiders" (and yes, the switch is intentional and important).
  • "The Tomb of the Vampire Princesses Sword" - This fun title is from a 'bad novel title' generator many years ago. I ran with it and am re-writing it. It's a steampunk and magic book, with more set up, but no titles yet.
  • "The Flight of the Valkyrie" is a diesel punk book set in an alternate past where the British built the Babbage's Engine and used it to take over the world. Lots of good stuff in here with Tesla, an evil empire and a trio of stalwart heroes.

Well, hmm. That's a lot.

I think I'll do some more posts on how I write ... but the software I write with I wrote ... so, heh, I'll talk about that as well.

Quoth!
